Monsoon Generation One API Youth Council Who are we? We are nine former middle school students from Amos Hiatt Middle School who participated in Monsoon’s Asian Pacific Islander Youth Photovoice Project. As a result of this project, we established Monsoon Generation One, the Youth Council of Monsoon United Asian Women of Iowa. We named our group Generation One because we are the first generation born in the United States in our families and we are also the first youth group members of Monsoon. Our mission is to stop violence against women and girls in our community. We believe that youth participation is important in preventing violence against women and girls!
